A custom observation glass elevator for a unique museum building
The Broad, a contemporary art museum located in downtown Los Angeles, boasts a vast collection of art exhibitions displayed in its 120,000-square-foot building. In addition to providing proactive maintenance services, Mitsubishi Electric designed a unique observation (glass) hydraulic elevator to match The Broad’s aesthetic while meeting its efficiency and accessibility needs — including ADA compliance and stroller access.
“Our elevator and escalator transportation equipment is critically important for our overall success daily and without a company supportive of our entire mission and needs, we fall short. Mitsubishi has risen to meet us at every junction successfully.”
Rick Mitchell, Director of Facilities, The Broad
A reliable elevator service and maintenance partnership
Since 2015, Mitsubishi Electric has continued to maintain seven elevators and escalators at The Broad — including one passenger Diamond-Trac® machine-room-less elevator, four passenger hydraulic elevators, 1 freight hydraulic elevator and 1 non-OEM escalator. The assigned service technician provides preventative maintenance and makes sure that The Broad’s elevators and escalators continue to provide smooth, quiet and safe transport — ensuring that Quality in Motion® means Quality in Service too.
