An elevator service partnership built on trust and exceptional service
Westfield creates high-quality shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment experiences for retailers and customers nationwide. Westfield’s partnership with Mitsubishi Electric began in 2002 when Westfield purchased the iconic San Francisco Center Mall, which was equipped with 14 Mitsubishi Electric elevators and 19 escalators — including six spiral escalators. Over the years, stellar performance and dependability led to Westfield choosing Mitsubishi Electric as its maintenance partner in every region where Mitsubishi Electric has an office.
“They understand our business and why we insist on predictability. And we’re not just talking predictable bills. We don’t have to call them as often because they do proactive maintenance. But if we need them, they’re very responsive.”
Sal Masotto, Senior Director, West Region Facilities Management, Westfield
A custom service contract to reduce callbacks and TCO
80% of the equipment maintained by Mitsubishi Electric for Westfield is legacy equipment manufactured by a third party. To help lower Westfield’s total cost of ownership, Mitsubishi Electric created a custom Elevator and escalator maintenance service solution that reduces callbacks for equipment — regardless of manufacturer — while ensuring a predictable monthly fee. By eliminating potential callbacks through preventative maintenance, Mitsubishi Electric can afford to cover late hours, vandalism and would-be billable events at no additional charge — extending Quality in Motion® to Westfield’s operating budget.
